Part-Time Climbing Club Instructor

Club Facilitation
- Develop and execute club program sessions in collaboration with fellow instructors and under the guidance of the club program manager
- Supervise and coach a range of beginner to intermediate youth climbers, ages 6 - 13
- Support youth development, team building, and individual goals
- Games, activities (e.g. instructing belay lessons, knot tying, climbing technique, rappelling) and controlled transitions between activities
Communication with club members, parents and club program manager
Floor supervision and safety of club members
Maintain a thorough knowledge of current programs and products that may appeal to participants and their families
Prioritize facility presentation by maintaining a clean and organized environment in all areas of the facility throughout each shift
Maintain excellent customer service
Maintain company policies and procedures

Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with both children and adults
Friendly, outgoing, and enthusiastic while maintaining the ability to follow and enforce safety rules
Works well with others and has a desire to foster positive community
Displays good judgment and a strong work ethic
Self-motivated individuals with a strong desire to keep learning
Minimum 1-year climbing experience required
Minimum 1-year employment or volunteer experience with school-aged youth preferred
Experience teaching climbing skills preferred
Customer service and sales experience preferred
First Aid training preferred

Enjoy working with youth
Availability from 4p – 6:30p Monday and Tuesday required
- Possibility of additional shifts throughout the week performing other gym duties if desired
Must be dependable and punctual
Must display professionalism and integrity
Must complete safe sport and heads up concussion training
