Outdoor Lessons

Vertical Endeavors Guided Adventures (VEGA) offers year-round outdoor climbing on rock and ice. Our climbing lessons and guided trips are great for beginners and experienced climbers alike. Venture to Midwest hot spots as well as areas outside the region such as the Needles in the Black Hills of South Dakota. If you’re looking to summit one of the North American 50 Classic Climbs, we guide to the summit of Devils Tower in Wyoming.

All programs are led by experienced VEGA guides who are required to have a solid base of personal experience and are qualified as guides. VEGA is dedicated to providing you with the best experience possible. A signed VEGA Liability Waiver is required for all participants, climbers and spectators.

Perfect for those who started indoors and are wanting to get outside, this course is designed to teach you the fundamentals of anchor building using bolts, natural features and traditional protection.

Format
Starting with a thorough introduction to traditional protective equipment and its various applications, this lesson is designed to provide a foundation of knowledge and skills to help you learn the intricacies of constructing solid top rope anchor systems. VEGA guides teach how to integrate natural features with placed protection to create an equalized anchor in a timely manner. Participants will receive one-on-one instruction and feedback from our guides while also working in teams to practice building their own anchors. Opportunities to climb during the lesson will be determined at our guides’ discretion.
